Grade II Listed and Centrally Located

We are fortunate to be the guardians of a Grade II Listed building on one of Brighton’s oldest streets.

The building was originally the offices of William Attree, Brighton’s first solicitor, who was employed by George IV to help him buy sufficient local land to realise his most beloved of projects – The Royal Pavilion. William was never paid for his time but George did finally donate a painting of himself; we don’t have the original but we’ve paid homage to him with an original artwork of George hanging above the fire in The Sitting Room.

The Lanes that surround us are equally historic, but are also home to an eclectic blend of independent shops, award-winning eateries, charming pubs and art galleries. Tuck into some delicious food at the likes of Hotel du Vin, The Salt Room or The Ivy, or get together with friends and enjoy a cold beer next door at Pub du Vin or The Walrus.

Brighton’s pebbled beach is 50m from our door, so take a stroll to the sea at lunchtime to clear the head and fill the lungs. (Take lunch to go courtesy of Lost in The Lanes and ask us for a beach blanket!)

The Work Space

First and foremost, The Projects is a collaborative work space. Our aim has been to create a blend of spaces that encourage productivity whilst also inspiring creativity and collaboration.

A space for Everything

There is quiet space for proposal-writing and concentration, open-plan tables for community and collaboration, window desks for light and inspiration, and standing desks for the fast and furious. There are phone booths for total confidentiality, seated booths for informal meetings, a bookable meeting room for more formal meetings and The Library for that oh-so-important presentation or larger-than-average meeting.

19th Century Building, 21st Century Technology

It may be a 19th Century building but the technology and finish are most definitely 21st Century. Quality is evident throughout, with full video conferencing capabilities and secure door access throughout.

The beauty of our Listed building is that there are a variety of spaces that suit different working styles, inspire creativity and make for a healthy work:life balance.

Lost in The Projects Café

Located on the ground floor, our relaxed, chic café is the perfect spot to grab a fresh coffee and take a well-earned break. With catering by Lost in the Lanes, the café offers premium, locally sourced coffee, with an interesting, frequently changing menu of freshly made snacks and smoothies. Lost is also on hand to cater for meetings, client lunches and events. Kitchen facilities are also available on every floor, for those who prefer to do their own thing, and for a constant supply of tea and coffee.

The Games Room and Terrace

Second Floor

The Games Room and Terrace

Our first floor kitchen area doubles as a breakout zone, with comfy sofas and games like table football, Space Invaders and Jenga. This is the perfect space to get the creative juices flowing again or unwind on a Friday evening.

Our second floor roof terrace (with adjoining kitchen facilities) provides members with a fantastic space for summer BBQs, team yoga or simply a chance to fill the lungs with fresh sea air. In the interests of productivity, the terrace provides space to switch off, take a break from your screen and re-energise.

The Sitting Room and Bar

Ground Floor

The Sitting Room and Bar

Originally secure storage for 19th century valuables, complete with cast iron door and security grille, the Vault Bar & Snug is now the setting for exclusive cocktail evenings and members’ social events. Armchairs surround the fire ready for winter evenings, and a selection of exceptional wines & spirits complement the small but perfectly formed cocktail list.

The Library

Ground Floor

The Library

Next to the Sitting Room and Bar is The Library, complete with books (of course!), comfy seating and a bespoke table which also caters for large meetings or Board-room style presentations. There’s all the audio-visual kit you could want, and even a ceiling-mounted camera so you can record everything for posterity. The Library, Sitting Room and Bar all form a separate ground floor space for hire (complete with toilets), away from the rest of the building.
